We will dive into channel strategy and how to choose and manage an OTA. We will talk about channel optimization and what you need to do optimize your performance.We will look closer at main players such as Booking, VRBO, Airbnb and Expedia. We will also guide you thru different cancelation policies, GDS for VR and look at niche channels.

Sarah Franzen was raised and educated in Minnesota. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota where she earned two degrees: a Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Business Statistics. Over the course of the next several years, she completed her graduate degrees at San Jose State University (M. Music) and the University of Georgia (MBA). Over the past 20+ years, Sarah’s career has included various diverse roles, such as: public K-12 classroom teacher, community college adjunct music faculty, business owner, hotel business development director, hotel revenue manager, consultant, and currently as Director of Revenue Management and Analytics at Natural Retreats, a leading luxury vacation rental property management company. It has been her honor to perform and speak on several stages at some amazing venues and events, including: The Savannah Jazz Festival, The Spoleto Festival, Orchestra Hall, The National Cathedral, San Francisco Lyric Opera, VRMA events/conferences (she’s a proud member of the VRMA Education Committee), and VRM Intel conferences, including the inaugural Data and Revenue Management Conferences in 2019 and the second in 2020. In her free time, Sarah enjoys performing, albeit infrequently, with her musician husband, reading classical literature, and crocheting ridiculously-frivolous projects. Sarah and her husband are empty-nesters and reside in Charlottesville, Virginia.
